In this seminar, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Dr. Dalir, a member of the academic board at the Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought, said, ‘A political system, if founded on logic, will be applicable and be one approved by the citizens. Additionally, it can also be the most pertinent tool regarding home and foreign political affairs.’
This seminar, titled The Hashiyah of Allamah Mulla Abdullah and Political Intelligence, was held in cooperation with the Centro Imam Ali (as), Lugano, the Office for the Defense of the Rights of the Followers of the Ahlul Bayt (as) in Switzerland and the Society of Religious Studies Switzerland.
In this academic seminar, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Bahram Dalir presented on the topic The Role of Logic in Political Intelligence. He said in this regard, ‘The history of this discussion returns to Ancient Greece and that time period. It then followed its own path of development until it branched into various fields, such as dialectic logic, quantum logic, fuzzy logic, etc. With attention to the topic of the seminar, logical prepositions play a vital role in the process of attaining and distributing power, as well as in the forming and application of political policy. A political system, if founded on logic, will be applicable and be one approved by the citizens. Additionally, it can also be the most pertinent tool regarding home and foreign political affairs.’
In answering the question, ‘What is the role of logic in political intelligence?’ he responded, ‘Political decisions must be logical. It is then important, based upon logic, for the decided affair to be enacted upon in a proper manner.’ Amongst the sciences, it is only logic that can be relied upon for making a rational political decision and their proper implementation. Logic is not only necessary for philosophy, rather it is necessary, in a general sense, for all sciences, be they human, experimental or industrial. Furthermore, for sciences such as law, politics, sociology, etc., it is needed for each of them in a specific manner. Matters, such as logical writing, rational political dialogue, rational political decision-making, proper implementation of political decisions, attaining and distributing political power in a rational and wise manner and intelligence based political management, require that logic is given its due attention by the political leaders and that they make the relevant efforts in learning it.’
Dr. Dalir further elaborated, ‘The point that I would like to get across in this seminar is the application of logic within the political sphere, and that the criterion for whether a political decision is rational and intellectual, and so too its implementation is the discipline of logic. It can also be a good measure for the prevention of errors in thought. Many political decisions appear to have no thought behind them or seem irrational. Opposing theories to this have a more journalistic, apparent and propaganda outlook, and do not have a logical approach to political affairs.’
‘Applying logic in all sciences and affairs is a necessity, even within the domain of the household and family, so as to solidify daily life and even be a barrier for divorce. If the logic of Mulla Abdullah governed between the government and the nation, it would establish a stable interaction between them. If the political behavior of the government is based on logic, it would find the necessary internal legitimacy and strong acceptability in the international domain.’
